This locally made strop is our most popular size, but we upped the style a bit, and this can only be done by hand! This range features hand stitching, burnished leather on the top and bottom sections, and nicely rounded curves with uniform stitching around the perimeter of the handle and hanging end. The handle is thinner, smoother and shaped differently than our medium range strops.
The canvas end has a snap fastener that clips on to the leather side of the strop, this prevents the canvas side from dangling down when using the leather side, it is also useful if you prefer your linen to have the hard leather as a base when stropping on it. We have also added a swivel end to this strop as you'd be using two different sides, the need for unhooking and re-attaching your strop's D-ring is eliminated.
We are offering this series of strops in 4 different options on the stitching, namely red, cream, yellow and rainbow, the color of the strops may vary from time to time, but they will mostly look similar to the ones pictured here. Please ask for photographs of available stock if you have very specific color/shade requirements.
These strops are made in our 'Long length' which is our most popular dimension; about 770 mm long with a stropping surface that is around 440 mm long and 75 mm wide, enough to cover the blade length of most razors out there.
