Made rite was a US company that made shaving brushes from before the second world war up to the late 60's. Stag, Rex and Klenzo were brands of brushes sold by the Rexall Drug store group, and the actual makers of the brushes themselves are not known to us. Made Rite also made similar brushes similar to the mentioned brands, tracking down information of vintage shaving brushes is quite difficult, but the appearance and materials always makes them easy to spot.
This brush in black and cream was a very popular look in an era when choice of brushes grew quite a bit in terms of handle options. We fitted this brush with a 21 mm Best badger knot, and I must admit they pair up beautifully! There is a bit of tarnish on the bottom, but removing it seems less sensible than leaving the brush in its original condition.
The brush stands 114 mm tall, is 27 mm at the waist and is close to 34 mm at the top and bottom of the hourglass shape, it weighs in at 73 grams. The handle shell is filled with resin to add weight and structural strength.
