Jack Connan razors
'Master Jack' as he is known to his peers is probably the most established modern razor maker in South Africa, although he does not reserve his skill to making razors only, he has certainly produced more custom razors than anyone I know. He has a keen eye for artistic style and produces some amazing stuff ranging from miniature cutters, daggers, knifes and swords. Jack runs his facility from his home on the Woes-rand, feel free to join his Facebook page and have a look at his stuff and antics.
Jack has a preference for razors in the 5/8 and 6/8 range, and loves making tools that are light and agile, rather than bulky and heavy. He loves thin grids and his razors are easy to use and manuevre around your facial features, the scales are also fairly thin and light, making for a razor that can be yielded with grace and prescision.
Make sure you use a light touch when sharpening his razors as the thin grinds have a tendency to flex when pressed down into a whetstone, our soon to be launced Bundu sharpening kit will be the perfect companion for his razors as this kit is designed around compounds doing the work, and not pressure or weight.
