In years gone by many hardware companies and chain stores commisioned razor makers to make them a range of items and then stamp their details on the steel to sell as 'their own' Outsourcing such work is nothing new and it has been done for centuries, some brands 'become famous' and some faded away, but it was hardly ever on account of either a poor or superiour product, but rather marketing efforts and size of their investment in such a range. This razor is one of the lesser seen ones, branded 'C.E. Hoffman Co, Dallas Texas' there are no markings other than that, so we are not sure whether the blank originates from the US, Germany or the UK. What we do know is that it shaves very nicely and loudly, the full hollow blade is 'loud and proud' and you will enjoy listening to each 'ping' as it snaps through the individual hairs sitting on your cheeks.
The razor has a few marks and blotches, but is ready, rust free and good for 1000's of uses, it is a great 'entry level vintage blade' that has a narrow, even bevel that is easy to sharpen and maintain. The razor is in original condition and around 100 years old, it weighs 32 grams, has a 5/8ths blade height with a sharpened angle of 16 degrees, and a cutting length of 65 mm.
