Here is a cool addition for anyone that has a three piece razor, the Glide 5.0 is a razor head that has the ability to use a double edge blade that is snapped in half and configure that into an arrangement with two cutting edges, both working simultaneously as to opposed to the more traditional heads where you have to rotate the razor and use the opposed edge equally as much to get 'even wear'

This head will fit most of the handles that are out there, in the photos we used a DE1 razor handle that worked very well, we chose the DE1 as we realized many folks do not have three piece razors and may be looking for the cheapest option to give this setup a whirl, and adding a DE1 razor will do the trick. It is cheap, still looks pretty good and has a narrow diameter up top, so the leatherette sheath also works while the head is attached to the handle. The DE2 razor is also a great option if you are looking for a cheap handle to add to your cart.

The head is quite narrow, so handles with a diamater of 15 mm and more on the top rim of the handle will touch the roller and impede the function of it, for this reason we will add a silicone washer with each head, it sits nicely on the casted mount that also protrudes from the base, making sure any handle is well clear of the rolling pin. The head did feel a bit loose on the DE1 handle on account of the tapered top section that offers fairly little fastening friction, and the silicone washer also sorted this out, the head mounts nice and secure with the addition of the silicone washer.

The shave was great, I used a 'cheap blade', and all in all I was very impressed, and cannot wait to try it with more blades! I got a near BBS shave doing a pass with the grain and one across, I am a fan of a razor with a fixed head as I use a bit of pressure in certain spots, so this head fits the bill for me. I shaved pretty quickly and it was really efficient and easy to use, the blade corners are fully exposed and this is where most of those little nicks occur, but the shave went sterlingly well with no nicks or cuts, regardless the speed and the 'below par' blade. The blades are set well apart, adding an interesting element you won't find with the mainstream plastic stuff that has closely set blades that will have most of you experience lots of clogging and requiring continuous rinsing when in use, the flowthrough of soap and stubble is much better on this head, and I was able to do a full pass without a single rinse, soapy slurp running down the handle but well clear of the working edges of the blades.

The head is magnetized, so loading the blades is a breeze, I have only done a single shave with this head, but will be trying two more options of only one blade loaded on top and an alternative one blade at the bottom to see what happens, it will be quite interesting to see what works best and the different sensations and results achieved. The razor head has a very flat proflile, so if bulky razor heads are problematic for you this may be a solution you would want to explore. Some 'experts' say the rolling pin is a gimmick, but they have been very well received by folks with sensitive skin looking to reduce friction on their skin, every aspect that helps to get you to your best shaving solution is a good one. We are of the opinion they offer true value to many of our customers.

The head comes in a cool little plastic case with a brush, a leatherette sheath, and we have added a silicone washer. They are available in three finishes, white metal, gun metal and rose gold.

Note* This listing is a razor head, washer, sheath, brush and case only, various suitable handles and razor options are available elsewhere on our website.
