The GT series of brushes from Omega were designed to celebrate some legendary automobiles, and I must say they did not stop at any specific aspect of the industry. This brush celebrates the Ford GT 40, it was is a high-performance mid engined racing car originally designed and built for, and by the Ford motor company to compete in 1960's European endurance racing sector. Its specific impetus was to beat Scruderia Ferrari, which had won the prestigious 24 hour Le Mans race for six years running from 1960 to 1965. The car did just that by becoming the first American made car winning the race in 1966.
Fun fact. The '40' in GT40 stands for the height of the car, 40 inches or just over 1 meter, if you stack 10 of these brushes on top of one another they will be higher than the car!
The multi coloured resin handle is poured in the style of the car, the blue, white and orange colours are easy on the eye and has the inscriptions 'Elite' and 'GT series' machined into the handle.
The 'Elite synthetic knot' is the latest technological advancement in the Omega synthetic fiber brushes range. The improved characteristics, such as the larger knot diameter, the special corrugations and the very fine tips makes this brush better performing and more pleasant to use. The knot, considerably larger than standard synthetic ones, develops a much more voluminous, creamy lather, making for a deeper, and more agreeable mechanical action on the skin.
This brush is nice and compact and creates the impression of a real powerhouse making for a good match of the 'legendary cars' theme, it has a 29 mm 'Elite' knot, weighs 94 grams, has a handle length of 54 mm and a loft height of 52 mm.
It comes in a big, fancy box, making it an excellent 'larney' gift to any bloke, don't forget the soap now!
