This Rat has a free spirited, colourful personality and is a bit unconventional in that way. The blade has lost most of its markings, but 'SEARS' and 'Chicago' is still noticable on the tang, making it quite a unique blade. This must have been a product made for the retailer themselves rather than the Henry Sears & son razors that are more commonly found.
The blade honed up real easy and gave a pleasant, close shave, we used a single layer of tape on the spine as it is still in quite good condition and has a lot of mileage left on it . The bevel is nice and even and it was easy to hone this razor, the half hollow ground razor shaved a little closer than we anticipated, a great attribute indeed. On the gripping end it has stabalized scales and nickel pins with stainless steel washers rounding off the presentation.
The blade is 70 mm long and 18 mm high, and weighs 48 grams. a Great choice in the 3/4 inch division.
