Skin Emporium's body butter is like a spa treatment in a jar, minus the ridiculous robe and awkward small talk around a bowl of fruit and some green undrinkable concoction. It is made with all natural butters, oils and beeswax, and will hit you up with a dose of skin food that will have your hide shiny and healthy like the glistening lips of someone who just devoured an entire rack of juicy Karoo lamb staan-ribbetjies!
Body butters and moisurizers are essential for some of us, and less so to others. Apart from climate, season and the natural elements, your skin DNA and overall wellness will also dictate when, if, and how much of which product you should use. It all sounds complicated, but simply pay attention to your skin over any period of time while using such products, be diligent in your obseravtion and then decide whether they add value or not. It is really that simple.
Body Lotion/moisturizer or body butter, what is the difference? The biggest difference between body lotion and body butter is texture: The former tends to have a higher water content and a more liquid consistency, while the latter is usually thicker and creamier (like, well, butter). Body butter will have a higher concentration of heavy moisturizers, such as shea butter, while body lotion is typically formulated with lightweight hydrators, like our soon to be launched series of pump bottle lotions. In a nutshell, body butters take a bit longer to apply and get absorbed by your skin, but generally has a higher concentration of 'skin food' while lotions apply quicker with a lesser intensive treatment of the skin. It is like going to the gym, you can do a session of cardio or a decent pump, both add value and will add to your well being, and dependant on your needs you could choose your routine and alternate as required.
