This is something that is very unique and hard to find, E.& F. Horster was the maker of brands Horstator, Famexi, Monika and Solwa, with Solwa being the mark hardest to find. There is very little information on these razors, and this one is very well preserved with few marks on it. It appears to have Buffalo horn scales, with golden lettering of the name 'Solwa' on the scales and golden etching in a well preserved state on the blade. It has some very cool patterning on the scales and clear, deep stamped lettering on the tang. This is a very desireable razor indeed!

This razor is quite thin and light, and will suit the majority of straight razor users The bevel is nice and even, and we really enjoyed the way it shaved, and chances are you are going to keep this one in your collection if you buy it.

The blade weighs 39 grams and has a round nose, the edge is around 70 mm long, and it has a height of 16 mm (5/8ths) suiting its half hollow ground profile.

*Vintage razors are priced according to model and availability, time spent cleaning and reconditioning and time/level of honing. Please enquire if you need additional work done to this razor prior to purchase. All straight razors will require a stropping on a leather strop before every use. Pics are unedited (detail) and provide a true image of the condition of the razor.

This razor is stropped and shave ready, simply wipe it clean of protective lubrication and use first time round. Dry your razor properly, handle with care and strop before every following shave.
