Another scuttle from Phoenix AA for users fond of warm, comfortable lathers. If you lather in a bowl this will take your shaving comfort to the next level and give you a warm, fuzzy feeling when you apply the slippery stuff. This is the lighter, travel friendly, smaller cousin of the Moonscape scuttle. This design has a number of features which makes it unique, it is made from Polypropylene (#5 recycle class), it is microwave & dishwasher safe, and unlike its porcelain brother, will accept boiling water straight from your kettle. It is also very light (138 grams) on account of it being made from Polypropylene. Apart from it being perfectly usable for the all who shaves, it is also ideal when travelling lots, for the frail/elderly and people with monkeys for children. We did some test lathers with a 20 mm synthetic brush, a boar and a mixed badger also a 26 mm silvertip, and have come to the conclusion that we preferred this scuttle for synthetic and boar brushes, and for some of the smaller diameter (19 & 20 mm) badger brushes. For larger brushes (25 mm and above) in natural hair we liked the moonscape scuttle better. Admittedly I am not a fan of ridges in scuttles as I prefer the fast action of the bristles combined with rapid wrist movement to create the lather, rather than resistance from the bowl itself. I'd more than likely flatten my ridges to a flatter profile in the near future, this could help for the scuttle to be more friendly towards my bigger brushes. The scuttle measures 120 mm at the outer diameter and stands around 80 mm high.
