The mind is a wonderful thing when you have to create and name products; Brut = Brute and this translate to 'Woesteling' (amongst others) in Afrikaans, a savage, ruffian, a dude who lives on the wild side of life! This name took a few seconds to sort out, AI would take years to make the connection, and more importantly, AI can but dream to create such a devious shaving soap!
Needless to say to most of you, this specific fragrance is very popular around the globe, and we hope it will gain a respectable following in our formats; the sheep tallow base shaving soap, and the natural base balm. We are currently also looking at some other post shave products for those who like more 'mainstream functionality', so keep an eye on this listing.
This new kid on the block is made in our mutton tallow base soap, as set out in the summary of this collection page, it has qualities different than that of beef tallow, it is a new avenue we have strolled into and we will continue to explore and experiment with it. This base will also be presented in the aluminium container once we have finalized the last touches, for now we do not anticipate any changes to the base formulation, but there may be some cosmetic changes in terms of colour and apperance. Please do try this new product and leave detailed reviews, the more we get the better know which way to steer the ship, to us it is a great shaving soap base, but chances are it may very well be improved upon, recipes can be adjusted in millions of ways, and it is unlikely we have found the best possible base in the first few tries, with your help this one may venture into the hallowed halls of talented tallow titans.
Expect the following; Great slickness both during the shave and residual, a stronger fragranced soap in the ever popular fragrance known across the globe, do expect a bit of varaiance of us using different infgredients in our products apart from simply the fragrance profile oil. The soap is relatively easy to lather ons you have completed a long load with a fairly well soaked brush, I normally load no more than 20 to 30 with most soaps, with this i can go to 60 and use wide circles for lots of pickup. I go straight to the face wehen the consistency while loading in the tub starts to firm up and get creamy. Feel free to spend a bit more time lathering the sweet nectar all over your face. The base has a soft, creamy consistency, and can become very firm, or stay more soapy and sheeny, you drive the brush! To me personally, this is one of my favourite bases when talking post shave sensation, there is really something about Mary's little lamb that makes the DADDY'S laugh and play...
