The first time I saw these cuties I knew had we had to get a few to see what people think of them. I think it is pretty safe to say that this razor falls fairly solid in the ladies catergory, and more so, the fun side of things, it also has some unique quirks and features that sets it apart in other ways.
Firstly, it is not an expensive razor, so if you are a first time user of safety razors, this one is worth your consideration. Ladies razors are normally quite long, but these guys are not, they measure a pretty standard 100 mm long, and weigh 54 grams. The Rose gold handle and cap is made from an alloy, and has a silicone sleeve doing the work that knurling normally would, and that is to provide grip under wet and soapy conditions. The base plate is made from some sort of hard synthetic compound. The base plate is quite rigid, and I'd say less prone to flex and bending than the cheaper metal razors with the pressed plate base plates. It also rebounds when bent, so dropping it won't result in permanent deformity of the guard, this is the part that take most the hits when dropped.
The blade alignment looks good, and blade exposure looks close to zero, only a slight protrusion is visible. The base and cap is well designed and pairs up nicely to present an ergonomic looking head portion.
The razor comes with a matching silicone stand that works very well, the torpedo shaped tail-end fitting mounts super easy into the stand, we love the fact that you will not damage your razor as could be the case with metal to metal mounts. Soft and squishy!
The '50-cal' comes with 5 blades, but do get some other brands as you would need to try a few makes to find the blade best suited to every razor and your skin/hair profile.
