Nosy Be is this epic 'little' tropical island just off the northwest coast of Madagascar and is the countries largest and busiest tourist resort. It has an area of 320.02 km2, with a population just over 100 000. Nosy Be means "big island" in the Malagasy language, the island was called 'Assada' during the early colonial era of the 17th century, Nosy Be has been given several nicknames over the centuries, including "Nosy Manitra" (the scented island), and this will give you the clue of why this range of products have this name. The ever popular Ylang Ylang plant that produces the most lovely tropical, monsoon fragranced essential oil is grown here in numerous plantations, it has become so popular globally that it has surpassed sugar cane production and is now the main agricultural product produced on the island. The island is also one of two that are the only locations in the world where you will find this specific little toad, just over 1 cm long!

The soft shaving soap is a combination of a tallow and vegetable oils/butters making it quite unique, this marriage works magically. The softer soap makes for quicker and more luxurious loading on the brush, and it can easily be worked into any other container of your choice without the need for heating it or grating it down. This is a must-have in every hardcore shaver's inventory.
The harder version of the soap has a plant oil and glycerine base which is a new addition to our offerings. This soap was specifically developed as a combination soap for shaving, body, beard and hair washing, a high quality product that performs very well in any of these tasks. The result is a single bar of soap that can be used for those times when you cannot pack a lot, but still need to come out the other side looking and smelling a million bucks. As this soap is made from sustainably sourced palm oil it can also be classified as vegan. Since it is harder, it is also a bit more economical than the softy, and also comes in slightly cheaper in purchase price on account of less ingredients. Don't think because this soap works for 'other things' it is not an excellent shaving soap, it will surprise you!
