Many brands in the US imported german and brittish razors and steel, or had them produced and shipped with their branding, here is one such razor that has 'New York' and 'M I Germany' on one side of the tang and 'Our Special' on the other. Some details of the importer;
M. JUNG, Importer 90 70th St., Brooklyn, NY; moved to 149-151 Church St., New York City in 1921 ca. 1911 - 1923M. JUNG RAZOR CORP. 252 40th St., Brooklyn, NY (factory); 36 Warren St., New York City (main offices)
This razor is quite thin and light, it has a light patina on the blade and the scales are original and in pretty good shape. The bevel is nice and even, and we really enjoyed the way it shaved, i would approve of the 'Special' badge, a very nice razor.
The blade weighs 33 grams and has a square point nose, the edge is around 70 mm long, and it has a height of 16 mm (5/8ths)
*Vintage razors are priced according to model and availability, time spent cleaning and reconditioning and time/level of honing. Please enquire if you need additional work done to this razor prior to purchase. All straight razors will require a stropping on a leather strop before every use. Pics are unedited (detail) and provide a true image of the condition of the razor.
This razor is stropped and shave ready, simply wipe it clean of protective lubrication and use first time round. Dry your razor properly, handle with care and strop before every following shave.
