Mpingo is definately one of the scarcer wood types that is very hard to find, even locally! I have a few stumps of these left, but am not sure if I will be able to buy some again, the lot I have now was sourced about 7 years back, and to date I have not been able to find unprocessed wood again from a ligitimate source, any getting any natural resource from poachers is something I truly despise, and certainly not an option.
Average height and size, black resin fills the voids and salty section, the brush ha sa hard-grafting boar knot that looks great with the lighter coloured sapwood. Treat with a sample of our natura balm from time to time to bring back the splendour and preserve the wood for long term storage.
The brush stands 135 mm tall, with the loft at 60 mm. It has a waist of 30 mm and a belly of 43 mm. The brush weighs 91 grams.
